New Directions: Federal Hydropower and Power Marketing Administrations under the Trump Administration

Time: 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM
Room Number: Room 10/11
Day: 3/12/2026

Examine how policies and priorities under the Trump administration are shaping the federal hydropower fleet and the Power Marketing Administrations (PMAs).

Panelists will discuss administrative approaches to dam operations, infrastructure investment, and leadership direction at the federal owned hydropower fleet and the four PMAs -- Bonneville Power Administration, Western Area Power Administration, Southeastern Power Administration, and Southwestern Power Administration.

The session will explore shifts in policy affecting power generation, environmental compliance, and funding priorities. Speakers will address how these changes create opportunities and challenges for PMA customers, non-federally owned hydroelectric projects, and stakeholders who interact with the federal hydropower system.
