NHA Chief Dam Safety Engineers (CDSE) Roundtable Meeting

This meeting is open exclusively to chief dam safety engineers (CDSEs) and their staffs working for hydro project asset owners that are NHA member organizations.

The morning will be dedicated to sharing among member organizations.

Beginning at 12 PM ET, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) Division of Dam Safety and Inspections (D2SI) -- including Division Director Dave Capka --will join the meeting to provide a summary, some observations, and a current assessment of the Part 12D Comprehensive Assessments from the FERC perspective.

Observations and common FERC response comments on submitted inspection plans, pre-inspection preparation reports, and CA reports will be presented.  In addition, D2SI will discuss upcoming CA and L2RA training.

Throughout the afternoon, there will be plenty of opportunity for discussion, questions, and feedback, including a discussion around the status of proposed 2026 dam safety inspections, staffing, and other items. 

What is the NHA CDSE Roundtable?
The CDSE Roundtable is a program dedicated to Chief Dam Safety Engineers and their teams, focusing on dam safety program management, new technologies, and regulatory compliance. The group meets twice a quarter to discuss hot topics in the industry and collaborate on solutions.
