Jack Pan

Jack Pan is the CEO and Lead Oceanographer at Ocean Motion Technologies, Inc., a U.S. marine energy and ocean technology company developing wave-powered systems and ocean data infrastructure to support the emerging Blue Economy and marititme defense. His work focuses on enabling persistent power and data capabilities at sea for applications including ocean observation, environmental monitoring, offshore industries, and maritime security. Prior to founding Ocean Motion, Jack conducted research at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, where he worked on satellite remote sensing applications for monitoring polar and coastal oceans. He received his Ph.D. from the Scripps Institution of Oceanography. He has participated in multiple Antarctic research expeditions and is a recipient of the Antarctica Service Medal for his instrumentation work in extreme environments.
