Ryan Davidson

Ryan Davidson is the Business Development and Policy Lead at CalWave, a developer of wave energy technologies. Since joining the company in 2021, he has led various initiatives at CalWave, spanning business development, project development, government affairs, and financial modeling. He has built partnerships and a project pipeline across the U.S., Canada, and Europe, covering sectors from oil and gas to traditional utilities to remote coastal microgrids. In 2024, he co-authored a paper in Nature Communications that modeled cost savings from wave energy technologies for the West Coast of the U.S. Ryan served as Co-Lead of the Marine Energy Council's Advocacy Working Group in 2025 and serves as the MEC Vice Chair in 2026.
