Gabriel Alsenas is an Associate Director at Florida Atlantic University's Southeast National Marine Renewable Energy Center and Assistant Director of FAU's Center for Intelligent Energy Technologies (InETech), a Florida Power & Light innovation and workforce development center, where he leads infrastructure, operations, and partner development. With a B.S. and M.S. in Ocean and Systems Engineering and nearly 20 years in the marine energy space, he is focused on assisting the growing sector with technology development, regulatory and policy guidance, resource measurement, onshore and offshore testing, economic development, and international standards and conformity assessment. Currently the Chair of IEC's Technical Committee for marine energy (TC114), he is also Treasurer of the IECRE and the US National Committee for the IECRE. In 2020, Mr. Alsenas was selected as a recipient of IEC’s 1906 Award, which recognizes exceptional recent individual achievements that helped advance IEC activities in a significant way.
