Allison Johnson

Allison Johnson is the Strategic Innovation and Outreach Program Manager for the U.S. Department of Energy’s Hydropower and Hydrokinetic Office (formerly the Water Power Technologies Office or WPTO). In this role, she leads a team that manages stakeholder engagement, communications, workforce development, small business engagement, strategic planning, and evaluation for DOE’s marine energy and hydropower R&D programs. Allison joined WPTO in 2018, following her initial role at DOE starting in 2015 as a Presidential Management Fellow. During this time, she served as a stakeholder engagement advisor to the Assistant Secretary of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy. Outside of DOE, Allison also spent time at the Environmental Protection Agency’s Region 8 office in Denver and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization in Brussels. She has lived in five countries and seven U.S. cities and now calls Washington, D.C. her home.
